In the event a patient presents to Medical Imaging stating they were sent for a procedure from an AMB Clinic but there is no order in IDM, it may be that the order was misdirected to the hold queue.  To pull the order from the hold queue, use the following steps:

1.    From any IDM desktop, choose the Find Patient routine and search for the patient.  Select the REG AMB for the correct date:

2.    If there are any hold queue orders for the patient, the following screen will pop up with the available orders:

Some of the orders may be in the hold queue awaiting appointments, so please be aware of the Ord Date.  Select the applicable order(s) with the same Ord Date and SAVE.  You will then be asked if you want to create a new account or use the existing account.  Always select Use Existing Account.

3.    The Place Ambulatory Orders screen will pop up where the order and any queries can be reviewed.  Select OK and the order(s) will file to the desktop.

In instances where patients have multiple orders in the Hold Queue, this could potentially cause an error in selecting the wrong order. Here are the steps to follow for Returning an order to the Hold Queue if selected by mistake.

1.    Once the order is selected from the Hold Queue list it will now show on the Technologist desktop. If the wrong order is selected, using the Record Exam routine, update the status of the order from logged to Cancelled and SAVE. You will get a pop-up window asking for the order to return to Hold Queue or Cancel the order. Select “Return to Hold Queue”.

If “Cancel Order” is selected, this will cancel the order and the order will not return to Hold Queue.

2.    Once the “Return to Hold Queue” key is selected, you will be prompted back to the technologist desktop. The order will now have a status of cancelled.
