Yes, to use Meditech Expanse effectively, you will need to undergo training. The training is designed to familiarize you with the features and functionalities of Meditech Expanse and ensure that you can navigate and utilize the system efficiently. The training sessions will cover various aspects, such as patient management, order entry, documentation, and reporting. You will also learn how to access and interpret patient information, use the system's search capabilities, and handle common tasks within Meditech Expanse. The training will be tailored to your specific role and responsibilities at the hospital, ensuring that you have the necessary skills to effectively utilize Meditech Expanse in your daily work.
All new hires/students and staff returning from LOA will need Expanse Training. The amount of training is dependent on your role/position here at TDH. All Front line nursing/students will require one 7.5 hour general training day from our Clinical Informatic Specialists. PSW will require one 2 hour training session as well.
Nurses working in specialized areas such as CCU, Labour&Delivery, Dialysis, ER, OR will require some addition training by those department's Educators.
Allied Health and Clerks will be receiving “on the job” Expanse Training from their respective area's Expanse Superuser.
All other positions will reach out to their Manager regarding training requirements.
