Ordering POC

  1. Search POC 
  • options for POC done at your site will appear
  • Select the appropriate status (STAT, Urgent, Routine, Daily)

Status Board

  1. Will update to Acknowledge Order under Ack/Rev column 
  2. will display under Specimen column to let end-user know there is a specimen to collect 

 

Worklist POC

  1. Order will reflex to PCS Worklist to notify end-user to collect

 

  1. Once collected Document and Save on Worklist for the orderable intervention to complete

 

Interfaced POC Device

  1. Will upload the data into MEDITECH under the Diagnostics tab identifying it as a POC result

 

Non-Interfaced POC Devices

  1. Follow site specific policy

 

Correcting an order for Lab to POC after hours (i.e. MRP uses an order set and lab is not available to run test)

 

  1. Note lab order is not POC

  1. Click to Stop the order

  1. Enter in the ordering provider of the lab test and select Conditional Order as the Source

 

  1. Enter Stop Reason as Order Change

  1. Go to Enter and search the type of lab test to find POC OR search POC to find a list of POC tests available at your facility.

  1. Order the POC to match the lab order (i.e. in this case it was a STAT CBC - order a STAT CBC POC)

  1. Click Submit. The lab order will be stopped and the POC will display on the nursing Worklist to complete the site process for POC testing.
