Using the Acute Status Board, the physician will enter an order for a selected patient. Before the order is finalized, the physician will need to identify if the procedure is to be performed as a portable study or not.

On the Technologist Desktop, when selecting an order from the worklist the portable status will be viewable at the bottom of the screen.

1. Entering a Portable procedure Using the New Order Routine

If a procedure needs to be done “Portable”, using the New Order routine the receptionist or technologist must complete all the required fields including the following Category Screens.

1. Portable query must be set to “Y", this information will only display on the technologist’s worklist at the bottom of the screen once a procedure will be selected.        Free Text but this field is mandatory. Record Exam:- Once the exam has been completed, the technologist changes the Status to Taken and completes the required fields.At the bottom left,The technologist can find the Portable workload unit named “RADPORT” under Workload Function. Workload “Count” must be changed from zero to 1.
