Documentation of BORN Interventions
During the course of the admission of the mother and infant, the BORN intervention will be documented on. This will occur at the end of that portion of their care. For example, the BORN Labour intervention is completed when the mother has delivered and before her transfer to Postpartum.
When the BORN intervention is opened, queries will populate with the information already completed by the end user in other interventions. The BORN intervention will reflect the last time that query was answered.
For example: The nurse will complete questions on the Maternal Admission Assessment (screenshot #1). When the BORN Labour intervention is opened to document, those completed answers will show within that intervention in green (screenshot #2)

*BORN Labour intervention
The end user will complete any outstanding questions within the BORN intervention. These queries will show as black as they have never been answered. Most of the required questions will exist within other interventions in the Labour/Postpartum or Newborn/NICU interventions.

When all required questions have been completed, SAVE the intervention.
If a site does not have an interface with BORN, the completed BORN intervention found in the Chart of the patient can be accessed and used by an end user to complete the BORN encounters within the BIS. Having the completed BORN interventions will assist the person entering information into the BIS retrospectively as all of the required information will be available and prevent that person having to search through multiple different interventions to find the answers required to complete the BIS encounters.
If BORN has an update, the queries within the interventions will be updated as well to reflect those changes.
